Article 23 of the Constitution bars discrimination on enumerated grounds (race, tribe, sex, place of origin, marital status, political opinion, colour, creed) but omits sexual orientation and gender identity, and no general statute covers SOGI.
Zambia ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on 1 February 2010 and enacted the Persons with Disabilities Act No. 6 of 2012 to domesticate it.
Zambia does not impose a specific health-insurance requirement for study permits, and the National Health Insurance Scheme excludes foreigners, so private international health cover is strongly recommended but not legally mandated for enrolment.

Your obligations on arrival
Address / residence registration
Under the Immigration and Deportation Act No. 18 of 2010, a foreign student must hold a Study Permit obtained before travel and report to an immigration officer on arrival; permit holders must notify the nearest immigration office of any change of address (Form VIII).
Student work rights
A Study Permit holder may not engage, for gain, in any employment, business, trade or activity not specified in the permit, so paid work is effectively not permitted for students without a separate permit.
