Address / residence registration
Under Yemen’s Law on the Entry and Residence of Aliens (Law No. 47 of 1991), a foreigner moving to a new locality must report their address to the Aliens Registration Office or local police within 48 hours, and hosts, hotels and employers must likewise register the alien within 48 hours.
Student work rights
Yemeni law sets no published weekly work-hour allowance for student-visa holders; any employment requires separate authorisation, and the ongoing conflict has largely suspended normal student-visa processing.
Health insurance
Health or travel insurance is not a formal requirement for a Yemeni visa or university enrolment, but it is strongly advised (including medical evacuation cover) because the domestic health system is severely degraded and there is effectively no insurance scheme.
Bringing medication
Yemen publishes no traveller-specific medication list; visitors should carry prescription medicines in original packaging with a doctor’s letter or prescription and declare any controlled substances at customs, verifying rules with a Yemeni mission beforehand.
