Address / residence registration
Most foreign visitors are exempt from police registration, but nationals of designated countries (and anyone directed by immigration at the airport) must register with the Foreigners Registration Office; hosts and hotels also report foreign guests to authorities via a C-form.
Student work rights
Pakistan’s student visa does not authorise employment; a foreign student wishing to work must obtain a separate work visa.
Health insurance
There is no evidence that health insurance is a mandatory condition of Pakistan’s student visa or university enrolment, though private cover is strongly advisable given limited public healthcare access for foreigners.
Bringing medication
Travellers may bring prescription medicines for personal use (roughly up to a 90-day supply) with a doctor’s letter and the original packaging; narcotics and psychotropics (e.g. some ADHD drugs and strong opioids) are tightly controlled under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, with severe penalties for breaches.
